A Bullhorn Amplify Readiness Checklist.
A practical, pre-launch checklist for Bullhorn Amplify. Work through your use case, data, workflows, automation and team before you switch the AI on.

Buying Bullhorn Amplify is a decision. Being ready for it is the work.
Amplify brings AI into your Bullhorn ATS and CRM, and the capability is genuinely useful. But switching it on before the business is ready turns a good tool into noise. The firms that get value from Amplify are the ones that prepared the ground first.
So before you launch, work through this checklist. I have written it from the readiness reviews I run with recruitment agencies, and it follows the same logic Bullhorn recommends: start small, prepare the data behind the use case, and plan the people side with as much care as the technical side.
If you want the thinking behind each point, read the longer piece on Bullhorn Amplify readiness. This post is the practical checklist.
1. Business readiness
Start with the problem, not the feature.
- Name one or two clear use cases where Amplify should help, such as candidate matching, screening or outreach.
- Write down the problem each use case solves. "Shortlists take too long" is a use case. "We should use AI" is not.
- Agree how you will measure success before launch. Pick measures that connect to the problem, for example time to shortlist or candidates found from the existing database.
- Confirm your Amplify subscription actually includes the features you want to start with.
2. Data readiness
You do not need a perfect database. You need the data behind your chosen use case to be reliable.
- Identify which fields the first feature reads. Match, Screen, Enrich and Outreach do not all use the same information.
- Check that job titles, locations, skills and statuses are consistent enough to search.
- Confirm candidate statuses reflect real availability, so the AI works from current information.
- Decide what you will clean now and what can wait. Clean the records that matter, and do not let the size of the whole database stall the launch.
3. Workflow readiness
Map the process your team actually follows today, not the one in an old document.
- Document how a job enters Bullhorn, how candidates are reviewed, and when submissions are recorded.
- Find the steps that break or happen outside the ATS.
- Decide where Amplify fits into that real workflow, rather than adding it everywhere.
- Confirm the workflow is consistent enough that adding AI will speed it up, not speed up the confusion.
4. Automation readiness
Some of the best Amplify workflows connect closely to Bullhorn Automation, so check what is already live.
- List the automations that currently run, what triggers them, and what they write back to Bullhorn.
- Check for overlapping processes that could send candidates conflicting communication.
- Confirm your suppression lists and branching logic still make sense.
- Make sure someone on the team understands how the existing automation behaves before you add more.
5. People readiness
A technically clean rollout still fails if the team does not understand why it is happening.
- Confirm user permissions, because Amplify can only access what a user can access.
- Plan training that uses real Bullhorn jobs and candidate records, not a demo.
- Give recruiters a safe place to try the feature and ask questions.
- Set the expectation that AI output varies and still needs human review.
6. Governance readiness
Decide how you will keep Amplify accurate and trusted over time.
- Agree who reviews whether the feature is delivering the outcome you set.
- Plan to collect feedback from the recruiters using it, not just usage reports.
- Set a date to review results and decide whether to expand, adjust or stop.
Readiness is the difference between access and adoption
Amplify gives you a growing set of AI capabilities across the recruitment lifecycle. Access is the easy part. Adoption is what this checklist protects.
Work through the six areas, fix the gaps that matter, and launch one feature deliberately. That is how AI becomes something your recruiters actually use, rather than something they switched on and quietly left behind.
If you want a second pair of eyes on your readiness, Achieve advisory services help recruitment agencies choose the right use case, prepare the data and workflow, and plan the adoption before you commit to the launch.
