Bullhorn Amplify: Turning It On Is Not an Adoption Strategy

I got some feedback recently that made me genuinely excited.
A recruiter needed to fill a temp role quickly. They used Bullhorn Amplify to identify the best candidate from the available responses, contacted them and made the placement.
Two weeks earlier, that recruiter had taken part in one in-person training session with Achieve.
What I loved hearing was not just that Amplify had found somebody. It was that the recruiter had the confidence to lean in and ask the system for what they needed when there was a real job to fill.
That is when the technology becomes useful.
What is Bullhorn Amplify?
Bullhorn Amplify is a suite of AI tools built into Bullhorn for recruitment and staffing companies. Depending on the edition and add-ons a business has, it can support matching, screening, outreach, submissions, data enrichment and call transcription. Amplify Search and Match is a premium add-on with tools for building searches, recommending candidates and ranking results. Bullhorn’s current Amplify feature guide explains what is included and notes that availability varies by subscription. For a broader summary of the product, see Bullhorn’s Amplify overview.
There is a lot there, and that is exactly why I would not try to introduce it all at once.
Start with the part of the recruitment process that is causing the most frustration.
Are recruiters struggling to find candidates already in Bullhorn? Are they spending too long reviewing responses? Are good people sitting untouched in the database? Is screening slowing down an otherwise urgent process?
Once the problem is clear, the relevant Amplify feature makes much more sense.
Bullhorn Amplify still depends on useful ATS and CRM data
AI does not make the information in your ATS irrelevant.
If job records are thin, candidate profiles are out of date or important activity is happening outside Bullhorn, Amplify has less useful context to work with.
Before blaming the AI result, look at what the system knows.
Are jobs being entered properly? Are candidate records current? Are consultants recording submissions and placements consistently? Do the statuses and workflows reflect what is actually happening in the business?
Bullhorn Amplify can help bring more value out of the database. It cannot completely make up for years of information not being captured or maintained.
Bullhorn Amplify training should use live recruitment work
A product demonstration can show people what a feature does. It does not always show them what to do with it tomorrow morning.
Take a live Bullhorn job and ask Amplify to find relevant candidates. Review the results together. Look at why one candidate appears to be a good match and why another does not. Work out whether the request needs to change or whether information is missing from the ATS.
That conversation is where people learn.
It also makes the training immediately relevant. The recruiter leaves knowing where Amplify fits into a process they already complete, rather than trying to remember a list of features.
Where Bullhorn Amplify stops and recruiter judgement begins
Amplify should create more space for recruiters to do the parts of the job that need a person.
It can help bring the right information forward, reduce repetitive work and make it easier to move quickly. The recruiter still needs to understand the client, assess the context, speak to the candidate and decide whether they should progress.
I do not think the aim is to hand recruitment over to AI. It is to stop good recruiters spending so much time on work that technology can help them do faster.
The placement I heard about is a simple example, but the results show it. One practical session gave somebody the confidence to use Amplify on a real requirement. Two weeks later, it contributed to a placement.
That tells me much more than a login report ever could.
Achieve helps recruitment businesses turn Bullhorn Amplify into practical ATS and CRM workflows their teams understand, trust and use.
Frequently asked questions about Bullhorn Amplify adoption
What is Bullhorn Amplify used for?
Bullhorn Amplify supports recruitment work including candidate matching, screening, outreach, submissions, data enrichment and call transcription. The available features depend on the products and subscription a business has.
Does Bullhorn Amplify replace recruiters?
No. It can complete or accelerate parts of a workflow, but recruiters still need to understand the client, assess context, review results and manage candidate relationships.
Why is our team not using Bullhorn Amplify?
The problem is often a missing use case, unclear workflow, low trust in the data or training that focused on features rather than real work. Start with one recruitment problem and make the expected process clear.
Can Achieve provide Bullhorn Amplify training and adoption support?
Yes. Achieve helps Bullhorn customers choose use cases, prepare workflows and data, review automation, train recruiters and measure whether Amplify is improving the recruitment process.
